Ingredients

  • 1 lb lean ground turkey
  • 1 small onion, finely chopped
  • 1 green bell pepper, diced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • ¾ cup ketchup
  • 1 tablespoon tomato paste
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tablespoon brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon yellow mustard
  • ½ teaspoon chili powder
  • ½ teaspoon paprika
  • Salt and black pepper, to taste
  • 4 hamburger buns, toasted

Instructions

  1. Cook the turkey In a large skillet over medium-high heat, cook the ground turkey with the chopped onion and bell pepper. Break the meat apart as it cooks until the turkey is fully cooked and the vegetables are softened.

  2. Add the sauce ingredients Stir in garlic, ketchup, tomato paste, Worcestershire sauce, brown sugar, mustard, chili powder, paprika, salt, and pepper.

  3. Simmer Reduce heat to medium-low and simmer for 10–15 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the mixture thickens to your desired consistency.

  4. Serve Spoon the turkey mixture onto toasted hamburger buns and serve warm.
